The Business Development Manager will connect shippers (customers who need their cargo shipped from point A to point B) with carriers (the companies with the trucks used to haul the freight), while negotiating a deal that is beneficial to all parties.

Description

Spearhead and launch a new business selling across airfreight/sea freight, import and export and be an integral part of the wider sales team.Develop innovation to support existing customer relationships.Engage and meet customers face to face and to update contact reports.Build a strong sales pipeline in terms of Rev and Volume for imports and exports in line with vertical markets & trade lanes.Engage with senior stakeholders and teams to develop value added solutions.Contribute to overall plans, strategies, budgets, and performance reviews

Profile

2+ years of sales/business development experience in Freight Forwarding.Have passion in building genuine relationships with customers.Have existing contacts within the industry.Communicate across all levels of stakeholders. Flexible, resilient and capable of adapting to changing environments.Conflict resolution, negotiation skills within the shipping and airlines industry, will be an advantage.A creative approach and demonstrate capabilities in building effective sales pipeline, taking into consideration challenging Pandemic circumstances.A team work oriented mindset to ensure strong collaboration within the group.Knowledge of CargoWise is preferred.
